BMW is Under Investigation by U.S. SEC
The U.S. SEC investigated BMW allegedly misleading sales practices. The investigation focuses on report that the company boost sales figures by reporting loaner cars as purchased by dealers. It was in September Fiat Chrysler also in the same case by inflating sales figures to increase performance by reporting fake vehicles sales and keep the actual sales figures. The company paid the S.E.C. US$ 40 million to resolve the investigation. Auto industry has almost the same pattern facing vehicle inventory tempted to manipulate figures to impress good performance to investors by reporting loaner or demonstration cars as sold.
