The DICE Mobile
Application is Enable Users to Load Content Without Network Connection.
DICE (the Disconnected Interactive Content Explorer) application is to help users in area where internet connectivity
is unavailable. NGA (The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency) Mobile Apps
team developed DICE initially to provide Search and Rescue Team to provide

Devices and Everyday Objects Could Communicate to Each Other Without Power Source.
Devices and Everyday Objects Could Communicate to Each Other Without Power Source.
By setting up smart sensor
attached in any building with distant 6.5 miles away from TV or cellular transmission,
two devices could send messages to each other. The researchers named the technique
as ‘ambient backscatter’ which takes advantage of TV
signal surrounding us instead of using battery. Everyday object’s like keys were
left could send signal to users phone about where they are. Smart sensor could be placed in a bridge to monitor
and alert about the health of bridge all the time. In the future, a University
Washington researcher, Shyam
Gollakota said
the team may develop smart sensor technique applicable for wearable computing, smart homes
and self-sustaining sensor networks. (TI02/PH/04/Sep/15)
